You may choose to write about a particular event, such as a recent business combination, or you may write about something more conceptual in nature, such as your thoughts on the potential for success (or lack thereof) of current efforts at increased standardization of international standards.  Choose something you will enjoy learning about, and then make every effort to say something meaningful.  Although your paper will probably be mostly descriptive in nature, you should in-clude some critical analysis.  We will discuss and clarify this requirement in class.
