“Research is the process of going up alleys to see if they are blind.”
― Marston Bates

In Writing 102, you have progressed through a series of research essays based on specific styles, Analysis and Synthesis. As you learned to analyze in your initial essay, you applied this skill to analyze your sources prior to synthesizing these ideas into your subsequent Synthesis essay. Now that you have mastered the technique of analyzing each aspect of your research and have successfully synthesized a limited number of sources, your research paper will allow you to expand these skills.
“I can’t begin to tell you the things I discovered while I was looking for something else.” ― Shelby Foote

The Works Cited must have a minimum of 10 sources.

“A good deal of time spent researching this book might well have been wasted and valuable opportunities missed if it had not been for the help and suggestions of archivists and librarians.” ― Antony Beevor
Be sure to take advantage of the resources the university provides.
As far as requirements for the subject of your Environment or Business theme research, you must submit to me a proposal for approval; however, I will allow any topic that is academic, interesting to you, appropriate, and appears to be a potentially successful subject.
“Research consists in seeing what everyone else has seen, but thinking what no one else has thought.” ― Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Be sure to read the rubric carefully, as eligibility to achieve an “A” is more advanced than previous rubrics.
