APPRECIATE THE DUALITY OF STAFF AND LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES THROUGH THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF HR POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Appreciate the duality of staff and line management responsibility for the management of human resources through the successful implementation of HR policies and procedures
You are to form groups of 3–5 students. Each group is to select a specific HR policy, the reasons for developing the policy (Why is it being developed? What will it address?) and the setting in which it will be implemented. Your policy could relate to any one of the areas covered during the semester. An example might be an employee safety policy for staff visiting the homes of at risk children, or use of the internet during work hours :
• the aims of the policy (Why is it being developed? What will it address?)
• major elements of the policy
• how it will be implemented/who will implement (e.g., training, for whom?)
You should also provide a brief statement of why your group chose this particular policy area and what you learned from considering how to go about developing a policy to the stage where its rationale is clear to senior management, its operation clear to line management, and its purpose/benefits clear to employees.
